At Next-Steps -Forward we value our donors. Without you, this work would not be possible. In these times of tighter resources, we are committed to being able to assure our donors that all funds received are spent in the most effective way possible, ensuring the most value for the dollars donated. Next Steps Forward has done everything possible to streamline our overhead so that costs are very low. In addition, we have structures in place that assure funds granted to equine facility partners are accounted for at the end of each grant cycle. Each grant recipient is required to report exactly how grant monies were spent in addition to meeting strict criteria that ensure the program is effective. These criteria include:

• Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) or Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGLA) certified lead instructors
• Additional education for volunteers to include SafeSport through the United States Equestrian Foundation (USEF)
• Meeting requirements for confidentiality and for both physical and psychological safety.
• Maintaining documentation
• Reporting in a timely manner on session progress and expenditures
